Sometimes you just can’t have enough black and the RAM 1500 Black Pack is one of those occasions.

Finished in Brilliant Black Metallic Paint, the Black Pack comes with 20 inch black alloy wheels, black front and rear bumpers, a black grille, darkened headlights and all the badging is black too – with one exception.

A red “5.7 liter” badge (note the American spelling) denotes the cubic capacity of the 291kW Hemi V8 engine, that comes complete with the optional RAM Sport Exhaust system.

It means you’ll hear this truck long before you see it.

Based on the RAM 1500 Express, the RAM 1500 Black Pack has the Quad Cab with an interior space of 3.3 cubic metres that places it ahead of most conventional utes.

Up the back is a huge 1950mm tray and standard heavy duty tow bar, with a class leading tow rating of 4.5 tonnes.

The RAM 1500 Black Pack is available in two versions.

The standard RAM 1500 Black Pack is a recommended $84,950 before on-road costs, or $89,450 with the unique Ram Boxes loading system.

The RAM 1500 Sports Exhaust System is a dealer fit option and as such is also available to existing owners, with a recommended retail price of $3266.56 plus fitting.

“The RAM 1500 Black Pack does everything in terms of space, towing ability and tray size expected of class-leading Ute, to which it adds dark, muscular good looks and, matching the unique performance, the sound track that can only be delivered by a full size V8 engine.

“In short, the hot V8 Ute is back, and it comes in Black with the RAM badge, front and back.
