Mitsubishi has taken the covers off a new-look Mirage in Thailand.

The facelift gives the mighty midget a sharper, sportier look with an upgraded, soft-touch cabin to go with it.

First and foremost however Mirage adopts Mitsu’s trademark Dynamic Shield design for the front, bringing it into line with the rest of the range.

The optimised light layout makes the tiddler look wider and more stable.

The styling of the multi-LED lights connects them visually with the grille and with the fog lamps located at the corners of the bumper.

At the other end, the rear also gets a wider and more stable look, with a squared-off treatment for the bumper corners.

Signature L-shaped horizontal LED combination tail lights stretch across the width of the car.

Capping off the look are new 15-inch alloys with two-tone diamond-cut styling.

There’s also two new exterior colour choices: White Diamond with brilliance and depth plus a new, vibrant and fresh Sand Yellow.

Inside new Mirage benefits from more user-friendly and stylish interiors.

The front arm rests have been redesigned and all touch areas are now finished in soft-feel cloth.

The instrument panel and the power window switch panel are finished in a carbon fibre pattern.

Upper trim levels are upholstered in a sporty-look fabric/synthetic leather combination, with the addition of piping and stitching that give an added touch of elegance.

New Mirage also gets Mitsubishi’s new Smartphone Display Audio (SDA) system with a 7.0–inch touchscreen for improved legibility and ease of use.

The system offers full smartphone connectivity including Bluetooth hands-free calling and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Final specification will be announced closer to the launch of the new Mitsubishi Mirage in the second quarter of 2020.

The current model is priced from $13,990.
